TRAINING DAOYIN
The EXERCISE of 49 MOVEMENTS
”The exercise of 49 Movements” is a sequence of forms created in order to prevent and even treat certain major health issues. It is recommended for chronic diseases of the respiratory, cardiovascular and digestive systems.
Professor Zhang Guang De recommends these exercises even for cancer patients (lung, intestines or stomach cancer). There are many exemples of cases when, after being clinically diagnosticated with these diseases, the patients cured by practicing “The exercise of 49 movements”.
This sequence takes about 28 minutes to complete and it’s the first and the most complex sequence created by the master. Professor Zhang Guang De experienced on himself the benefits of this exercise.
In 1972, professor Zhang’s health was seriously deteriorating because he was suffering from arterial hypertension, a coronarian disease and hepatitis. As bad things never come alone, after 2 years (in 1974), he was diagnosticated by some renouned hospitals with lung cancer (besides the diseases he was already suffering from).
Not long after this, he discovered that he also had a blood disease, which prooved to be hereditary (leukocytopenia and thrombocytopenia).
In addition to all this, he couldn’t get any medical treatment because of his hypersensibility to chemical origin medecines. So he was sent home to wait his end.
Having nothing left to lose and an enormous wish lo live, he synthesized his entire knowledge about internal practices for cultvating health (Neidan, Taijiquan, Qigong, Traditional Chinese Medecine). Thus, he created this sequence of forms, which he named afterwards “The exercise of 49 movements” (sishijiu shi jingluo dong gong). By practicing assiduously this sequence, he managed to cure almost all the diseases he was suffering from. The only malady left was the hereditary blood disease, which he successfully holds under control.
Observing the efficiency of these exercises and having the support of the Sports University in Beijing, where he was already teaching, he further created the entire Daoyin Yang Sheng Gong system of traditional chinese gymnastics for improving health.
Later studies confirmed that the efficiency rate of “The exercise of 49 movements” in treating the respiratory, cardiovascular and digestive issues was respectively 94%, 90% and 88%. This demonstrates that these exercises are a real “magical weapon” for curing diseases, for generally improving health, for ill, weak, aged or invalid persons.
The characteristics and demands of this form are:
1. Calming the mind and focusing the attention on specific body zones.
2. Directing the energy flow by the mind.
3. Consolidating and cutivating the energy.
4. Swallowing saliva in a correct manner.
5. Uttering the specific sounds with mastery.
6. Combining static postures with movement.
7. Alternating fast actions with slow ones.
8. Hardness and suppleness supplement each other.
9. Correctly coordinating breath with movement.
