Master ZHANG GUANG DE
Master ZHANG GUANG DE is born in 1930, in the town of TangShan, Hebei province, China, into a family with strong tradition in medical practices.
From a very young age he showed a strong interest in Chinese martial arts - Wushu - also in enhancing and promoting health using movement as a method and technique.
In 1955 he begins to study in the Wushu Department of the Physical Education Institute in Beijing (now University) - nowadays he continues here, as Senior Professor at the University.
In 1974 he was diagnosed with a very difficult disease, provoking him severe allergies. This disease could not be medically treated. So he began an intense study of Chinese Traditional Medicine, especially DaoYin methods (to guide and conduct Qi internal energy flow through the whole body) and TaiJiQuan.
Founding his work upon a vast and profound knowledge of traditional forms, Professor Zhang GuangDe arranged a system of practice called DaoYin Yang Sheng Gong, combining traditional DaoYin methods, physical exercise (studied from a scientific point of view) and a specific mental cultivation. Using this system, professor Zhang managed to overcome his own illness, giving hope to hundred of thousands patients.
In China his medical Qigong method was officially admitted by the Health Ministry and it is now used in several hospitals to treat the most diverse illnesses.
In 1992 professor Zhang GuangDe was awarded by the Chinese State for the quality of his Qigong system; since 1996 DaoYin Yang Sheng Gong methods are part of the National Physical and Health Preparation Program. Professor Zhang was awarded by the Chinese Wushu Federation with the title "One of the best 100 Wushu Grandmasters".
In 1998 the Chinese Wushu Federation accorded to him the degree of 8 Duan in Wushu. There are only 10 professors in the world who received this degree.
Since he created DaoYin Yang Sheng Gong System, Master Zhang GuangDe keeps on studying and teaching his knowledge through practice sessions held in many countries of the world - including Europe and America; at this moment his system is present in more than 70 countries , counting more than 4 million practitioners.
Nowadays Master Zhang GuangDe is a Professor and Researcher at the University for Sport and Physical Education in Beijing (Wushu department), Headmaster of "DaoYin Yang Sheng Gong - Zhang GuangDe Center", Permanent Member and vice-secretary of the Chinese Association for Wushu Studies.
Master Zhang GuangDe keeps on traveling throughout the world to lay before thousands of people the benefits of DaoYin.
He makes frequent appearances at Chinese National Television and he is the author of numerous books presenting DAOYIN Yang Sheng Gong System.
